When flying to Malmö/Copenhagen you have the possibility to choose between two airports: Copenhagen Airport (Denmark) and Malmö Airport.
Both are equally close to the city even though one is in another country.
Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup Copenhagen Airport – Københavns Lufthavn, Kastrup is the major airport for both Copenhagen, Denmark and Malmö, Sweden. Copenhagen Airport is owned and operated by Copenhagen Airports A/S and has all the worlds’ major airlines represented. Accessibility to and from the Copenhagen Airport is by taxi or bus right in front of the entrance and from the railway station beneath Terminal 3 where the Copenhagen Metro connects you to all major Danish cities; furthermore, the Öresund Railway takes you directly to and from Sweden.
Malmö Airport, Sturup Malmö Airport is 30 km southeast of Malmö and it only takes 25 minutes from the airport to Malmö city centre, if you take a taxi or go by car, and with bus it takes approx. 35 minutes.
With a car you have many different ways to choose when you are travelling to Malmö and Skåne.
From Copenhagen: A quick and easy way is taking the Öresund Bridge that will bring you to Malmö. The bridge is one of the biggest constructions in Europe. It consists of 8 km (5 miles) long bridge, 4 km artifcially made island (called Pepparholmen) and 4 km long tunnel.
From Germany: If you arrive from Germany by ferry via Trelleborg, mostly from Travemünde, Sassnitz or Rostock you only have a 20 minutes drive to Malmö on E22.
By train
It’s easy to travel by train to and from Malmö. You’ll find direct trains from Denmark and Germany. It’s quick and easy to get from Copenhagen Central Station in to the centre of Malmö with the Öresundtågen.
Skånetrafiken makes it easy to travel in the south of Sweden. They offer a range of tickets and travel cards for use on city and regional buses and trains within Skåne and Denmark.
